Free. About six minutes.
When it starts to wear off.
Watch this about two hours after the film, at the moment you feel the last one going. Not before. Put it on again if the feeling comes back — it will, probably twice the first night, and there is no limit on how many times you are allowed to need it.
About 6 minutes, including the silences, which are part of it and are not filler.
Arrive on time.
Hello again.
It has been about two hours, and it is starting to go. That is why you put this on.
This is about six minutes. You do not need another hour — you had the hour. You need somebody to be here right now, and I said I would be.
Nothing has gone wrong. This is the appointment. You knew it was coming, and it came.
Thirty seconds first, the same as before.
Breathe out slower than you breathe in.
Again, slower going out.
And let it go back to normal.
Name it.
What you are feeling has a name, and you learned it this afternoon.
This is the one with a clock.
It is arriving exactly on time, the way it has arrived every few hours for years. The only difference tonight is that nothing is coming to reset it.
So this is not evidence that you made a mistake. It is not proof that you cannot do this. It is the clock running down for the last time, and it is doing exactly what I told you it would do.
You are not in trouble. You are on the map.
And the feeling itself has changed sides tonight, even though it feels identical. For years it meant it was time, and obeying it is what kept it alive.
It is not an alarm any more. It is a receipt.
The argument it is about to make.
Now, before it happens.
It will not come at you as a craving. It will come as a reasonable idea, in your own voice, and it will sound like the most sensible thought you have had all day.
It will be one of these.
I will start properly tomorrow.
I did the video. I understand it now. One more does not change what I understand.
Today was not the right day to pick.
That is the whole argument. That is everything it has left.
And you already know what one does, because we went through it: one does not undo the understanding. It reopens the question. And the question is the only hard part of this.
Do the thing.
So we do what you did this afternoon. It takes ninety seconds.
Find it in your body. Not what it means — where it is. Chest, stomach, jaw, throat, hands.
Now describe it to yourself. Tight or hollow. Hot or cold. Still or moving. Does it have edges — can you find where it stops?
Now do not fight it, do not feed it, and do not distract yourself from it. Just watch it.
I am going to be quiet.
Still there? Bigger? Smaller? Moved?
Close.
Look at the time.
However long that was, it did what I told you it does. It came, it peaked, and it is going, and you did nothing about it except look at it.
That was the hard part. Not the month — that. The first time it asked and did not get an answer.
It will ask again tonight, probably twice. Put this on again. It works the second time and it works the fifth time, and there is no limit on how many times you are allowed to need it.
Tomorrow morning is the audio track. Different job — this six minutes is for tonight, the audio is for the mornings after, and you want both. Once a day, from tomorrow.
Nothing is being taken from you. Not tonight, not on the day you decided, not tomorrow.
The date on your phone has not changed.
Today is still the day.
This is one of three, and all of them are free. The hour itself is the one to start with.
