Licorice Root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) is one of the oldest and most widely used medicinal herbs in the world, with documented use for over 4,000 years in Babylonian, Egyptian, Chinese, Greek, and Roman medicine. The name comes from the Greek "glykys" (sweet) + "rhiza" (root) — it is indeed 30–50 times sweeter than sugar due to its primary compound, glycyrrhizin. Licorice Root Soothing Respiratory Blend: 1 ml licorice root tincture in warm water with honey and lemon. Take 3 times daily during respiratory illness.
